| Biography | Dandara is a brazilian transdisciplinary artist: singer, performer and music producer based in Zurich/Switzerland. She reflects a contemporary Brazilian music with roots in the tradition of Afro-Indigenous-Brazilian rhythms. Throughout her career she has collaborated with several projects in music, dance, theater, visual arts, and performance in Brazil and Europe. Dandara has produced, composed, and directed soundtracks for films and performances, such as «Movimento III_Celebration, post tsunami foams» (Mario Lopes), «Afrotranstopia» (Mario Lopes, David Muñoz, Mahal Pita), «Villes Invisible» (Um passo a frente). In her most recent album «Estrangeira», Dandara reverberates about the female body in transit, migration, the power of the alterity and ancestrality. |
