SONIC MATTER_ radio

The SONIC MATTER_radio is available year-round, broadcasting 24/7 from the extensive SONIC MATTER archive, featuring contemporary music and sound art. Over a period of three years, the archive was carefully curated and includes works by composers, ensembles, sound artists, and radio artists from all over the world. The archive now contains over 80 hours of music.

From 2021 to 2023, RADIOPHONIC MONDAYS shaped the sonic offerings of SONIC MATTER_radio. Every first Monday of the month, these broadcasts aired, addressing relevant, current topics and creatively reflecting on them through music and radio art. Accompanying discussions and interviews provided insights into the diverse work of the radio art scene. Additional "Open Calls" for electroacoustic works and special broadcasts featuring the artists presented at the festival ensured that the radio stayed active throughout the year, reaching a broad international audience.

Due to limited staffing availability and budget cuts, no specially commissioned broadcasts were produced in 2024. The timeline for the full resumption of radio operations is still to be determined.
