| Biography | Jean Voguet (*1953) is a French composer known for his pioneering contributions to the realms of acousmatic and electronic music. Having been a futuristic bruitist, Voguet has continued to delve into innovative realms, focusing on the concepts of Geophonies and Acousmatic Heterotopias. His artistic vision revolves around the presentation of his works within diverse environmental and immersive contexts. Voguet's exploration of «sound spaces of otherness», characterized by virtual ecosystems within intricate structures, gives rise to a transformative musical journey that transcends conventional boundaries of time and space. Many of his compositions such as «l’Odyssée», «instants sonores», as well as unconventional performances involving airplanes and tractors, are inspired by his fascination with the great myths of humanity and the poetic nature of the human experience. In addition to his participation in various acoustic music events, Voguet has made significant contributions to live electronic performances and multimedia events, featuring prominently at numerous international festivals and gatherings. He also served as the co-artistic director of the VIA Festival in Paris from 1993 to 2002 and played a pivotal role as a co-founder of the PAN Network from 1994 to 2003. Since 1995, he is the director of the CRANE laboratory, a Research Center specializing in heterotopia, acoustic music, art ethics, and regeneration.
