Biography | Léo Collin (*1990) studied applied arts, European classical music and electro-acoustic music composition. Based in Zürich, next to the alp mountains («the life here is mourning») he spent his time to make some little shows for humans with humans+others. His albums are composed of field recordings, extended techniques, childhood memories and US internet samples mixed with European myths. He likes to transmute the ritual of the concert by his experiences in theatre to find other musical formats to listen to these contemporary musics. Collin uses computer music softwares and hijacks them for the stage and «passive» audience participation. He stages pieces from contemporary repertoire for his trio Kollektiv international Totem, like their current le grand plongeon, a remix of the orchestral piece Atlantis by Peter Eötvös. Collin has been commissioned with works and his pieces were played by various ensembles from France, Finland, Luxemburg, and Switzerland. He makes soundtracks for theatres such as Schauspielhaus Zürich or Deutsches Theater Berlin, Far Festival or Volksbühne, as well as for directors and choreographers such as Bernadette Köbele and Marco Milling. Collin participated as performer in shows and workshops by Alessandro Sciarroni, Sebastian Baumgartner or Michael Jarrell. Since 2018, he has been working as an assistant for the composer and performer Jörg Köppl. |
