| Biography | Mareike Hein was born in 1987 in the GDR. In 2011 she graduated the acting school in Bochum (Folkwang University of arts Essen). Her artistic path lead her through theatres in Bochum, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover and Theater Bonn. Afterwards she performed at Theater Basel, Winkelwiese Zürich and the last two years at Hans-Otto-Theater Potsdam and the DT Berlin. She has been based as a freelance actress in Berlin since 2018. Theatre directors* she collaborated include Jorinde Dröse, Andrea Breth, Alice Buddeberg, Mirja Biel, Jan Christoph Gockel, Sebastian Kreyer, Bernhard Mikeska, Sandra Strunz, Katharina Cromme, Joe Hill- Gibbins, Gavin Quinn, Florian Hein, and Kevin Rittberger. In 2015 Theater Heute magazine nominated Mareike Hein as best newcomer actress for her Mirjam in «Hiob». In 2017 she was awarded the Thespis Preis for «outstanding theatrical performances». The same year she was awarded the scholarship of the Internationalen Forum of the Berliner Festspiele. |
