ABOUT Nina Fukuoka: «遠くから運ばれる微かな声 Tōku kara hakobareru kasukana koe» This piece is inspired by a selection of sounds I have encountered in Japanese gardens and nature. Those recordings were then manipulated and superimposed with other sounds to re-envision my personal experience. I wanted to create a sonic environment where one can have a private experience of the sounds of shishi-odoshi, the flow of water, and other auditory events encountered at a close distance while walking in a garden. My goal was to create a space for sound relaxation and sound therapy. A version of the piece exists with live performers and a graphic score. This piece is part of a project inspired by Japanese gardens, including sound and interactive VR installations. |
