BiographyRama Gottfried is a Zurich-based composer whose work explores the web of relations connecting humans to their animate and inanimate environments. Gottfried constructs immersive scenographic worlds merging acoustic and electronic instruments with puppetry, object theater, and live cinema. His works have been featured at international festivals including Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, MaerzMusik, SPOR, ECLAT, Ultima, and rainy days among others. A former member of Ensemble Pamplemousse, Gottfried’s notable works include the live video-puppetry piece «Scenes from the Plastisphere,» which was awarded the 2022 Stuttgart Composition Prize. He currently serves as Professor of Contemporary Computer Music Practice at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK), where he teaches and pursues interdisciplinary art and technology research at the Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology (ICST).
