ABOUT Wingel Gilberto Pérez Mendoza: «Párpados de hojas secas»

Eyelids of Dry Leaves, a piece for mixed media, explores the theme of LEAP - to leap into the acoustic world and the electronic processes. The composition embodies the spirit of diversity and new possibilities of connections with sound and hearing by combining acoustic and electronic elements, bringing together different cultural and sonic traditions, hearing for some excerpts of a Doublebass and sometimes no clear source of sound "leaping" between the 2 worlds. The soundscape created by the piece takes the listener on a journey of exploration, challenging preconceptions and opening up new horizons. As the eyelids of dry leaves close, the piece symbolizes the beginning of a new era, a time of transformation and renewal, where we can embrace change and find strength in diversity.
