| Biography | Anaïs Cabandé (*1994) is a sound artist based in Marseille. After completing her degree in Documentary Film, she first worked as a sound engineer in cinema. In 2021, Cabandé graduated in Fine Arts in Marseille and around that time, discovered electroacoustic composition while attending François Wong's classes at the Cité de la musique. Following her studies, her sound research materialized in various formats: radio works, compositions, installations and performances. Since field-recording is central to her practice, she is interested in soundscapes and voice, and their musical characteristics. Cabandé’s work ranges from documentary filmmaking to experimental music composition and she has collaborated with musicians, filmmakers and dancers. She is a founding member of the radio collective «Copie Carbone». ABOUT Anaïs Cabandé: «Subimago» A mayfly, after spending months at the bottom of a river in the larval stage, begins its ascent to the surface of the water. It gets rid of its "aquatic skin", a moult called subimago. This composition is part of a sound research around the night and the transformation. |
