| Biography | Evelyn Frosini (*1983) is an Italo-Argentinian composer and sound designer based in Geneva. She studied in Argentina and holds a degree in Music Composition from the National University of Arts and a diploma in Sound Design from the Escuela Nacional de Experimentación y Realización Cinematográfica. Frosini is currently pursuing a master's degree in Multimedia Composition at the Haute école de musique Genève. Her artistic production ranges from instrumental, mixed and acousmatic music compositions to sound design in audiovisual and multimedia works. Frosini’s music has been performed in several venues in Latin America and Europe and she has won the 2018 TRINAC-UNESCO in the electroacoustic Music category, as well of the 2018 Creation grant from the National Fund of the Arts (Argentina). In 2020, she obtained a Special Mention in the Ars Electronica Forum Wallis (Switzerland). Frosini was artist-in-residence at Elektron Musik Studion in Stockholm, at the Music Production and Reseach Laboratory of Centro Cultural Recoleta (Buenos Aires), at the Festival de Nueva Ópera de Buenos Aires and at the Teatro Nacional Cervantes (Buenos Aires). In 2021, she was jury in the Call for Works of Ung Nordisk Musik (Sweden). Her compositions have been selected and programmed at the International Society of Contemporary Music – World Music Days (Estonia), Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music (Australia), MIXTUR (Barcelona), Zeppelin (Spain), eviMus (Germany), MA/IN MAtera INtermedia Festival (Italy), MUSLAB (Mexico), MUTEK (Argentina/Canada), SPECTRA V2 (Colombia), Tehran International Contemporary Music Festival (Iran), CrossRoads (Austria), among others. ABOUT Evelyn Frosini: «SAMOA» «SAMOA» is an acousmatic piece originally for 4 channels, inspired by a homonym experimental film. The piece aims to introduce the listener into a hyper-realistic sound reality where unknown sounds and hidden gestures generate a new narrative in different layers of meanings. |
