Biography | Luis Miguel Delgado (*1990) is a Colombian composer and doctoral student in Composition and Music Theory at the University of Pittsburgh. His work is based on the development of musical discourse, starting from structures with musical potential such as literature, physical phenomena and the intervention of public space. He has received commissions by the Siemens Stiftung and has won various awards and scolarships: 3rd prize in the Composition competition with The Megalopolis Saxophone Orchestra 2019, and scholarships from the Government of Colombia, the Ticino Musica Academy and New Music On The Point Festival. He has been artist-in-residence with the CEPROMUSIC Ensemble (Mexico), the National Center of Contemporary Arts (Russia), and Copiuensemble (Chile). His scores have been published by Babel Scores. |
