Susana Campos Fonseca
Biography	Susan Campos Fonseca is a scholar specialized in Musicology, Sound Studies, Philosophy of Culture and Technology. Professor of Music History, Transdisciplinary Studies and Artistic Research at the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). Her works, published in prestigious international journals and several collective books, have been rewarded with many different prizes, amongst the UCR University Council Award 2002, the WASBE conductor scholarship 2003, the Carolina Foundation Scholarship 2005, the “100 Latinos” Award (2007) bestowed by the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid and the Revista Fusión Latina and the Prominent Academic Award 2013/2014 bestowed by the University Council of the UCR. Campos-Fonseca is member of the Advisory board of the Boletín Música de Casa de las Américas (Cuba) and of the journal Música e investigación of the Instituto de Musicología “Carlos Vega” (Argentina). She has been a member of the international scientific committees of the Spanish journals Música y Educación and ITAMAR (music research), member of the Advisory Board of The International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM@Journal) and guest editor of TRANS-Revista Transcultural de Música of the Iberian Society of Ethnomusicology. She is currently coordinator of the Archivo Histórico Musical of the Escuela de Artes Musicales of the UCR and principal investigator of the project Laboratorio móvil de acción y pensamiento en artes biomiméticas [Mobile laboratory of action and thought in biomimetic arts] of the UCR-Sede del Sur. Member of the TRANSCARIBE NETWORK of transareal and transcultural studies of Central America and the Caribbean of the UCR, she participates also in the international project Connected Worlds: The Caribbean, Origin of Modern World (ConnecCaribbean) and the Network of Experts in Climate Change of the UCR. She is guest professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and at the Escuela Superior de Música de Alto Rendimiento (ESMAR) in Valencia, Spain. Susan Campos-Fonseca is an artist member of the Irreverence Group Music record label and the New York Poetry Press.
