| Description | Yellow Music is a Vietnamese pop genre that emerged during the years when the country was divided. In 1975, it was banned as «decadent». Artist-in-residence Nguyễn Thanh Thủy grew up in Vietnam with a variety of musical influences and has researched the significance of Yellow Music as a source of identity for the Vietnamese diaspora in her adopted home of Sweden. Along with her ensemble The Six Tones, which combines traditional and experimental approaches to Vietnamese and European music, she reinterprets Yellow Music songs from the perspective of her own personal history.
