| Biografie | Anna Zaradny (*1977) ist Klangkünstlerin, bildende Künstlerin, Komponistin und Improvisatorin. Sie absolvierte Studien in Saxophon, Dirigieren und Musiktheorie an der Musikakademie in Poznań. Als Komponistin und Instrumentalistin arbeitet sie in einem breiten Spektrum von Genres – von akustischer improvisierter Musik unter Verwendung einer minimalistischen zeitgenössischen Klangsprache bis hin zu komplexen Strukturen experimenteller elektronischer Kompositionen. Zaradny ist Mitbegründerin des Festivals und Plattenlabels Musica Genera. Als bildende Künstlerin schafft sie Installationen, Objekte, Fotografien und Videos. Dabei arbeitet sie mit Abstraktion, Mikro-Sound und architektonischen Elementen, Licht und Raum. Ihre Werke sind von Mehrdeutigkeit geprägt und von der Beziehung zwischen Medium und Ideen. Zaradnys Werke wurden bei verschiedenen Festivals und Ausstellungen präsentiert, darunter MoMA (Warschau), 5. Lubumbashi Biennale (Lubumbashi), SiILBERKUPPE (Berlin), Kunst-Werke (Berlin), Sonic Protest (Paris), Aural Festival (Mexico City), Unsound Festival (New York), London Exploratory Music from Poland, Super-Deluxe (Tokio), What is music? (Sydney, Melbourne), The Knitting Factory (New York) und das Art Institue of Chicago. Ihre Diskografie umfasst Soloaufnahmen wie auch gemeinsame Projekte mit Burkhard Stangl, Christian Fennesz, Robert Piotrowicz, Jerome Noetinger, Tony Buck, Kasper Toeplitz, Cor Fuhler u.a. Sie hat Musik für Theater, Multimedia-Projekte und Performances komponiert, hat mit Paulina Ołowska am Kulturzentrum WIELS (Brüssel) zusammengearbeitet und war als musikalische Beraterin und Forscherin an dem Projekt «Escape Act» von Alexandra Bachzetsis beteiligt. Sie war Fellow Artist im MuseumsQuartier Wien, Preisträgerin des Views 2011 Deutsche Bank Foundation Award in der Zachęta National Art Gallery und Teilnehmerin der SHAPE-Plattform. Zaradny war zudem Resident am Elektronmusikstudion Stockholm und am KSYME Contemporary Music Research Centre Athen, wo sie sich mit renommierten Institutionen der Kunstwelt auseinandersetzte. Focusing on a single detail in the massive density of analog synthesizer sound and registering the moment of disintegration and connection. The music transports the listener into a sphere that is as much like outer space as the oceanic abyss, giving a chance to immerse themselves in the "mighty sound of silence". The feeling, the mood is illusory, because the dense matter creates intense audial images that can intensify both the feeling of anxiety and relief, oppression and liberation.
