| Biografie | Teresa Barrozo (*1982) ist eine philippinische Klangkünstlerin, Komponistin und neugierige Zuhörerin mit einer breiten Palette von Arbeiten für Film, Theater und Tanz. Ihre Kompositionen wurden bei den Festivals der Asian Composers League in Japan und Thailand sowie bei den Asien-Pazifik-Wochen in Deutschland vorgestellt. Ihre Filmmusik war u.a. auf den grossen internationalen Filmfestivals in Cannes, Venedig, Toronto, Locarno und Berlin zu hören. Sie wurde mit dem Ani ng Dangal Award der Nationalen Kommission für Kultur und Kunst der Philippinen ausgezeichnet und nahm am Biosphere Soundscape International Internship Program teil. Im Jahr 2014 wurde sie Stipendiatin des Asian Cultural Council in New York, wo sie sich auf Klangkunst und Design, Performance und zeitgenössische klangliche Praktiken in den Bereichen Hören, Field Recording, akustische Ökologie und Komposition von elektronischer und Computermusik konzentrierte. Im Jahr 2021 wurde ihre Musik im philippinischen Pavillon auf der Expo 2020 in Dubai (Vereinigte Arabische Emirate) präsentiert. The piece is a reflection on the ability of the Filipino people to overcome adversity, while also acknowledging the fatigue and frustration that often accompany such challenges. While recognizing the importance of resilience, the piece attempts to ask questions regarding whether this is truly the life that Filipinos deserve. It emphasizes the exhaustion and anxiety that arise from constantly adapting to hardships, underscoring the urgent need for leadership support, system reform, and government accountability. «Lately, Everyday» not only comments on the resilience of Filipinos, but also calls for change and accountability amidst ongoing obstacles.
